Network Management Policy

Last updated September 2026.

Florida Broadband, Inc. provides this information about our network management practices, performance and commercial terms so customers can make informed choices, consistent with the Federal Communications Commission’s transparency rule (47 CFR § 8.1).

1. Network management practices

  • Blocking: We do not block lawful content, applications, services or non-harmful devices.
  • Throttling: We do not degrade or impair lawful Internet traffic based on content, application, service, or source. We do not slow plans after a data allowance is reached; usage beyond an allowance is billed as described in our Service Terms.
  • Affiliated or paid prioritization: We do not favor any traffic over other traffic in exchange for payment or to benefit an affiliate.
  • Congestion management: Our network is engineered with capacity to handle typical peak demand. During periods of unusual congestion, traffic on a shared wireless sector is shared fairly among active users. Business plans marked “Priority” receive priority scheduling on our network over residential traffic; this is a feature of the plan the customer purchases and is applied without regard to content or application.
  • Application-specific behavior: We do not modify protocol fields or treat specific applications differently. To protect customers and the network, we may block ports or traffic associated with spam, malware or denial-of-service attacks (for example, outbound SMTP port 25 on residential plans).
  • Device attachment: You may connect any lawful device that does not harm the network. Our outdoor radio or fiber termination equipment is installed and managed by us.
  • Security: We monitor the network for threats and may temporarily restrict an account that is sending malicious traffic, and will contact the customer to resolve it.

2. Performance characteristics

  • Technology: Most plans are delivered by fixed wireless from our towers across the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee. Fiber plans are delivered over fiber directly to our network operations center at the Glendale Trade Center.
  • Speed and latency: Typical download and upload speeds for each plan are shown on its Broadband Facts label. Typical latency is about 40 ms on fixed wireless plans and 20 ms on fiber plans.
  • Factors affecting performance: line of sight, foliage, heavy rain, distance from the tower, in-home WiFi, the customer’s devices, and the performance of the websites and services being used.
  • Real-time applications: All plans are suitable for streaming video, video conferencing, online gaming and VoIP.

3. Commercial terms

Prices, fees, data allowances and contract terms are listed on each plan’s Broadband Facts label and in our Service Terms. Our privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
